High Barn Records to host ‘Side By Side evening’

This evening will feature one of High Barn Records' new artists, Marina Florance and is aimed at both primary and secondary schools. The intention is to introduce children and teachers to a new school anthem called 'Side By Side' which is available to download FREE OF CHARGE from this website.

High Barn will also give teachers an opportunity to take a
tour of the superb recording facilities and hopes that this event
will help to forge links with the local education system.


'Side By Side', written by Mick Kennedy and performed by Marina Florance, was the result of a series of discussions between the duo about their backgrounds and experiences. Mick, being Irish, has been concerned for many years about the divided communities in the Northern Ireland province. Similarly Marina’s family, who are Greek Cypriot, have also seen the division of their country and the occupation of their families' land.

“We really should celebrate the things we have in common with each other and admire the differences between us. Music is a common thread among people, often enemies playing the same instruments and songs as each other.”
