Marina Florance invited to peform at Wimborne Festival
It's not often a folk singer who started to write songs purely as a hobby, gains a record deal having never played any live performances before and goes on to perform at Strawberry Fair Folk Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival shortly afterwards. Now Marina has raised the stakes again and will be playing at one of the UK's largest folk festivals, The Wimborne Feestival,
Dorset on Saturday 13th June.
"We've been offered a 40 minute set right in the middle of the day, which
is just a brilliant time to be playing!" Marina says enthusiastically.
This very colourful festival started as a one day event and such was its
success that plans for a bigger event soon followed. Based around the
town centre streets and local venues, the festival has its own very unique
atmosphere, regularly attracting many thousands of visitors from
throughout the UK and abroad, proving that even in this day and age and event of this kind based on tradition can attract crowds of over 30,000 people has stood the teset of time (taken from www.wimbornefolkfestival.co.uk/about.php)
